DGP sanctions special welfare and financial assistance – Jammu Kashmir Latest News | Tourism

SRINAGAR, July 19: In a bid to provide financial relief to the families of police officers who have died in service, Chief Police Officer (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned special welfare assistance of Rs 1.82 crore. He also sanctioned financial aid of Rs 1 lakh for the marriage ceremony of the martyred SPO daughter.
Special social assistance of Rs 22 lakh each was sanctioned in favor of dependents/legal heirs of the late ASI Satish Kumar, ASI Tarseem Lal, HC Khalid Mehmood, HC Romesh Chander, W/HC Shakeela Akhter, HC Mohammad Yousf, HC Ghulam Hassan and CT. Farhad Ali. These personnel died due to illness, traffic accidents or natural death while on duty. Apart from the rupees, six lakh was also sanctioned in favor of the NoK of the late SPO Sukhdev Raj who died due to illness during his engagement.
Rupees of one lakh each have already been paid to the NoKs of these deceased police officers through their relevant units for performing the last rites. Special social assistance is sanctioned by contributory police social assistance funds.
The DGP has also sanctioned one lakh rupees as financial aid to the NoK of Martyr SPO to cover expenses related to his daughter’s marriage ceremony.
