LAKE COUNTY, Florida. – Lake County is offering assistance to eligible residents who have delinquent mortgage payments, officials said Tuesday.
Lake County’s CV-1 Mortgage Relief Program will provide select households with up to $5,000 for delinquent mortgage payments, excluding stranded property taxes, incurred after March 13, 2020, according to a statement from hurry.

County officials said the funds are being paid directly to the mortgage company and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The assistance program is available to residents who meet the following conditions:

Head of household must be either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien

The residence must be the primary residence of the household and be located in Lake County, Florida

The residence must have an exemption from the owner

Household must have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 (i.e. unemployed, underemployed, reduced hours of work or rate of pay)

Household income must be equal to or less than 120% of the median income of the region
