Wood County Commissioners Doris Herringshaw, Craig LaHote and Ted Bowlus have transferred the internet auction service to GovDeals, effective May 11.
County-owned personal property not required for public use is offered for sale to the general public and other public entities for a period of 10 days, after an initial five-day “classified” listing for departments County.
Internet Auction users and those interested in such a property can register with GovDeals using the Internet Auction quick link provided on the county’s website, www.woodcountyohio.gov. If you are already registered with LightGov, a re-registration for the new service is required.
The switch to the new provider also includes electronic payments directly through the bidders GovDeal bidder account. The successful bidder will have five business days to make full payment and 10 days to schedule pickup of purchased items.
GovDeals provides technical support to users by calling 800-613-0156 ext. 2, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday, except public holidays. For more information regarding the Internet bidding process in general, contact the Wood County Commissioners Office at 419-354-9100.
